Sciatica Pain

Sciatica Pain

The longest nerve in your body is the sciatica nerve. When that nerve is compressed somewhere along its pathway, you might suffer from the pain starting from your lower back to your buttock area and your legs. The sciatica pain might be acute or chronic depending on how long you suffer from the pain less than 6 weeks (acute) or more than that (chronic). The level of how much pain you might experience depends on how much the nerve is compressed. Any pressure on the sciatica nerve might develop the sciatica pain shooting to our legs. Most of the times a slipped disc, budging disc, spinal injuries, or spinal diseases are the potential causes for the pain. From the signs and symptoms that you might have, your osteopath might tell you if you developed sciatica pain or not. S/he also will tell you the cause of it, and will intent to eliminate that cause. Your osteopath can do several maneuvers to discharge your nerve from the pressure and release it by some gentle soft tissue therapy and stimulate more support for the other structures around it. S/he also will advise you to modify your posture as well as giving you exercises to make the muscles stronger and giving your spines more support.
